Hi, Nelba, here we send you the activity 5 of the blog. We loved work with this exercise today.
It was funny jaja and interesting, because we didn't know anything about the difference between british english and american english. Well, yes the difference in the pronunciation of course, and between holiday which is British and vacation which is American.
Now we know that we have to choose one of them because we can't mix them. We know that it's difficult because the films and the songs, most of them, are in american english and if we choose british it's complicated.
Have a nice weekend!

Last week I visited Jóvenes6 course because they are developing a wiki which will become an online magazine by the end of the school year. They are supposed to choose a topic and write a short article illustrating it with videos and or photos.
One of the groups will write about Pink Floyd. Have you ever heard of them? Well, they were very famous in the late '70s for their rock opera called "The Wall".
I would like to inlude a video here where you can listen and read the lyrics - you can sing along , if you want to ;)

British /American English
What are the differences between British English and American English? There are many British words which are different from American ones. You have studied that "elevator" is a "lift" in British English. Lisa and Sofia Efthymiou, an American mum and daughter, have listed the differences between British and American words in this website. They have arranged the words in categories to make viewing easier for school work.
Activity THREE : The following website will show two drop-down lists to find the American English equivalent of British expressions and vice versa. Click here and study the expressions to expand your vocabulary.
Activity FOUR : Click HERE to see how good you are at distinguishing Brit. from Am. English
Activity FIVE : Make posters using Paint contrasting some of the British English words given here with their American English counterparts. Send me the posters via mail to escuelaunlp@yahoo.com.ar Deadline: June 20th
