Jóvenes 5 B menores - Prof. Ma. Laura del Rio

Our project was based on the story “A Unicorn in the Garden” by James THURBER (http://english.glendale.cc.ca.us/unicorn1.html). In November students read the story and worked with some comprehension question on the Internet. After working with the story, they watched a video on You-Tube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ADFCzrseP4o. On this video they learnt about the different parts of a story. Then they analyzed the story “A unicorn in the garden” following the structure of the video.
Here you can read an example of their analyses:

PARTS OF A STORY

SETTING
-Time: morning

-Denouement: Finally they thought the wife was the crazy one and they took her with them.

They wrote a short paragraph about their own interpretation of the story:

INTERPRETATION

In my opinion the man did see the unicorn, but he got mad when his wife didn´t believe him. She treated him badly when she called him "booby". They didn´t seem to have a good relationship.
When she threatened him with the booby-hatch he saw the opportunity of taking revenge. When the police and the psychiatrist arrived, he acted normally and made the others believe she was the crazy one.

Jóvenes 2Mayores using Glogster- Prof. Marina Grasso

Jovenes 3mA- Prof. Julieta Amorabieta

The aim of this sequence is to help students reflect about what is good and what is not so good in our world, and – ultimately – to think about what we can do to make ours a better world. Students will have to work on a poem and a song, exchange views and ideas, and create a poster encouraging people to “improve” our world.
